Trees on higher-flow bubblers or multiple emitters want a long run that wets the soil to two or three feet deep; large shrubs want moisture to about a foot and a half; small accents and cacti want a shorter run to roughly a foot. Because exact minutes vary with your emitter output, the reliable way to calibrate is to run a zone, then check how deep the water reached with a soil probe or long screwdriver an hour later, and adjust until the soak depth matches the plant.
