How Do You Fix an Irrigation-Caused Dead Spot?

Most bare spots in a maintained desert yard come down to water not reaching the roots. The fix is to test the zone, clear or replace the affected emitters, repair any cracked tubing, and confirm every plant in the area actually has an emitter delivering to its root zone. Pressure-compensating emitters help on long runs and slopes, keeping the last plant on a line as well watered as the first.

If the failures are widespread, patching one emitter at a time is a losing game and a full zone rebuild is the smarter spend.
